Affiliate Disclosure

No person or company sponsors this site, my writing, or my travel. Some links are affiliate links, and this page explains how they work and the rules I follow.

If you click an affiliate link and buy something, the company may pay me a commission. You don't pay anything extra, usually we try to get you a deal even. If you'd rather I didn't earn anything, you can search for the company directly instead of using my link.

Where you'll see them

Affiliate links appear mainly in the "Recommended services" section of country guides, for things like travel insurance, eSIMs, and other trip services. Every guide with affiliate links has a short notice above the first one, so you never have to come to this page to find out.

My rules

  • Commissions never change a rating, a recommendation, or which pathway category a country is in.
  • I recommend things I earn nothing from when they're the best option, and I say so.
  • I only recommend services that are legal where you'll use them. I don't link to cannabis sellers operating outside the law.
  • If a company I link to changes in a way that makes me stop recommending it, I remove the link and note it in the guide's change log.

Questions

If a link or recommendation looks off, tell me.
